What is water pollution ? Causes, effects and prevention?

Water pollution Water pollution Water is also an integral part of the environment.  Is one of the basic needs of mankind.  Having clean water is absolutely essential for human health.  In the absence of water, humans can survive for only a few days because a large part of the human body is water.  Therefore, in the absence of clean water, the life of any living being, any civilization, cannot be imagined.  Today, despite knowing all this, human beings are mixing such substances in our water-sources without thinking, due to which the water is getting polluted.  We are getting water from rivers, ponds, wells, lakes etc.  Population growth, industrialization etc. have polluted our water sources, which is a vivid proof that our holy holy river Ganga, whose water was kept clean and pure even after keeping it for many years, but today this holy river Ganges, are many rivers and water sources polluted?  are.  If we want to save human civilization from the dangers of water pollution, then it is absolutely necessary to stop this natural resource from getting polluted or else the dangers caused by water pollution will become a threat to human civilization.

 What is water pollution?

Water is a life-giving element on earth, water is the most basic factor in the creation of this ecology.

Water is such a natural element, which is found more than 70% on the whole surface.  But this boon of nature is being corrupted by humans.

Generally, when any kind of undesirable elements are mixed in water by natural and human, due to which the natural properties of water are changed,

Then that condition is called water pollution.  Then this water becomes no longer potable and it causes various types of diseases.

In simple words, it can be said that due to physical and human beings some such foreign substances get mixed in the water, due to which the water

Loses its natural properties.  Water which has an effect on the health of living beings is called polluted water.

There are many big sources of water, such as oceans, oceans, rivers and lakes, glaciers, ponds etc. But this water is used in very little or no quantity.

Humans get most of the water inside the surface through tube well, well etc. and

Use it for various purposes in your life.  In many places, water from rivers and lakes is also used.

 Due to water pollution

 1. Today the number of factories has increased as a result of industrialization, but before setting up these factories, their waste materials are shed in any other source like rivers, canals, ponds, etc., due to which the animals and plants living in the water  So there is a bad effect as well as the water is not potable and gets polluted.

 2. The solution of a serious problem of removal of excreta due to population growth was done in an ignorant way that today excreta and urine are thrown into rivers and canals etc., these urine and faeces are contaminating our water sources.

 3. When nuclear tests are done in water, their nuclear particles get mixed in the water and they contaminate the water.

 4. These water sources are also contaminated by people in the village taking bath in ponds, canals, washing clothes, bathing animals, cleaning utensils etc.

 5. In some cities which are situated on the banks of the river, after the death of the person, his body is thrown into the water.  Due to the decay and decomposition of this carcass, the number of bacteria in the water increases, the water rots and the water gets polluted.

Today's era is called the industrial age, because due to increasing industrialization, today everything from needles to aeroplanes.

Made in industrial units.  Therefore the number of industries has also increased a lot.  Many of which are industries where chemical substances are used,

And the chemical waste which remains of chemical substances, that waste is thrown into the rivers through drains.

Due to which the water of the rivers gets polluted badly.  The water creatures of rivers start dying and various types of diseases arise in them.

Garbage is being thrown from various industrial units in India's largest holy river Ganga, for which the government spends crores of rupees.

Not only India, but there are many such rivers of the world, which have now become polluted like this.  That even bathing in them can cause dangerous diseases.

According to a survey, 460 thousand liters of impure water from Kanpur city is thrown into the Ganges river every day, due to which the water of the Ganges river has an adverse effect on the health of people as well as human beings.

 Effects of water pollution

 1. Nuclear tests in the seas get nuclear particles in the water, which destroy marine life and flora and disturb the environmental balance of the ocean.

 2. Cholera, dysentery, tuberculosis, stomach related diseases arise in humans by drinking polluted water.

Along with contaminated water, tapeworms, roundworms etc. reach the human body, due to which the person becomes diseased.

 4. Residuals from factories in water, hot water contaminate the water source as well as heat the environment there, due to which the number of flora and fauna will be reduced and the aquatic environment will become unbalanced.

 5. Clean water, which is needed by all living beings in very essential quantities, will be lacking.

 Ways to avoid water pollution

 1. Along with proper arrangements for the disposal of waste materials coming out of factories and industrial units, these wastes should be made flawless before execution.  2. Effective legal steps should be taken by declaring the discharge or dumping of waste in the river or any other water source illegal.

 3. The organic materials should be oxidised before they are used.

 4. Chemical substances, such as bleaching powder, etc. should be used to destroy the bacteria in the water.

 5. Nuclear tests being carried out in the seas at the international level should be stopped.

6 Awareness should be created in the society and the general public about the danger of water pollution.
